However, there are still ton of amazing Android Apps that are Not Available on Playstore, which you never knew about since some a lot of them aren't that popular. So, in this post I am going to discuss about the best Android apps that are not on Playstore.

These apps are very useful and primarily it doesn't do any harm to your privacy and security. Obviously, there are some apps on the web that have malware which can inject any kind of virus or leak your phone privacy, so if you are ever looking to download an app that isn't available on the Google Playstore just be very careful.

The apps that are listed below are completely safe and most of can found on F-droid or XDA Labs, these are alternative Android apps that are well respected in the official Android Community.

1. HiShoot2i

The first app of the list that are are not on the Playstore is the HiShoot2i. It is a screenshot editor app, that let's you click screenshots in the smartphone frames but it a step further by allowing anyone to create template. Most of the templates can be found on a telegram called HiShoot templates.

You basically go on the channel scroll through thounsands of templates until you find a screenshot template that you like, then you can download that apk that's right down below.

Once you installed open the HiShoot2i app and you can find the template by tapping your gallery icon and then default, from there you just select the template that you have downloaded >go back>then you can add a screenshot with the device frame by tapping the '+' icon >select an screenshot and now you can find the screenshot within your files.

You can also edit the background, shadow, frame, batch, etc. Once your are done you can save the image and upload it to where you'd like. There are still many apps in the Playstore that functions similarly but none of them could take it to this level.

2. Blokada

On of the most annoying things within free applications or websites are intrusive ads, means it seems sometimes quite ok but in some of the game and apps it totally destroys the interest. Now look I have nothing against developers trying to make money off their apps, games and websites but as told earlier there are a few of them to take it too far.

I am talking about the free games that have non skippable video ads on every other level and they charge a lot just to remove the ads with no extra features, also you may have encountered in some of the articles that have Auto playing video ads, pop up ads, full screen scroll over ads and finally the free applications that place large banner ads in the worst possible spots. So, I set to find a great ads blocker that not only blocks intrusive ads but also stops trackers and doesn't require any root.

This app is called as Blokada, a great ads and track blocker. In my opinion, this is one of the best ads blockers that I have ever used and it is open source.

Once you downloaded the app, just toggle it on and it will create VPN interface to block ads across your apps and bowser. You can also choose from the list of the recommended host to block ads, for those technical users all the traffic will be filtered by the VPN connection and it will only allow queries for hosts that are not blacklisted.

Along with the Blokada allows you to change the DNS service on your smartphone, they have some of the popular DNS servers to choose from or you can also add your own and lastly they have feature called Blokada Tunnel which encrypts your data, hide your IP address and mark your location, however this feature costs you around $6 per month.

3. Bromite

This is a chromium based browser that is focused on enhancing your privacy as you surf the web and also includes an ad blocker. Bromite comes with a few more features that even the Google Chrome doesn't have, so for example: you can play videos in the background for websites that Google Chrome doesn't support.

It has a native advertising blocker engine with filters from easy lists as you can block from the origin, etc. And as I said before it has more privacy settings such as support of DNS over HTTPS which should significantly increase your user privacy, since your DNS query will have an encrypted connection and you will also have higher security cause it will better protect you against in the middle attacks. Google Chrome doesn't have this feature but it's disabled by default on their flags page.

Bromite lets you use other third-party hosts that aren't just Google. On the top of that bromite automatically removes click tracking, it has anti fingerprint mitigations, you can have links always open automatically in incognito mode and it has a ton of privacy and security patches from other popular third-party browsers. There are many underway changes and features that I didn't talk about that enhance your privacy and security in this browser.

4. Viper4Android

Viper4Android has been around since the golden days of rooting and it's still going strong. For those who don't know what is Viper4Android? It's is a tool that will enhance your smartphones audio, no matter if you're using headphones, the phone speakers, a USB connection or a Bluetooth device. You can modify the sound to the extreme for example: if your wireless headphones don't provide that much bass you can increase the base frequency and you can also make the sound even louder if your headphones don't get that loud.

If you want to surround sound then you got it, there's a compressor, an equaliser, amplifier, etc. Viper4Android is a very feature packed sound app, in which there are even some options that I have no idea what they do but for an audiophile this app is like a gold. I definitely recommend it, but the only thing is that it does require root to work because it does modify your sound drivers on your phone. The latest version is on XDA labs so I wouldn't recommend it off from other sites because you'll obtain an older version.

5. AppScope

Next I am going to discuss is not exactly an apk but an progressive web app called AppScope and it's a market place filled with web -based apps that you can download for those of you who aren't aware web-based apps mimic the same functionality of a regular native apps but they take up less storage scene on your phone. So, since they are small in size they are pretty good alternatives for installing apps you barely use.

For example: Instagram has an app size of 84MB but on the PWA (progressive web app) version it's just using the Google Chrome app as the base and you can do most of the same things that you were able to do on the regular Instagram app.

So, you can think of AppScope as the app store for progressive web apps, you just go to your browser look up appsco.pe in the search engine and then select add scope to your home screen then add again and you'll find the marketplace in your ap drawer. Once you open it, you can tap on an app or a game that you would like to install select launch app>tap the menu>select open in chrome>then tap the menu again>select add to homescreen and then add. Some other apps also acts similarly but not so quite well.

6. Lawnchair 2

The last app of the the list is the Lawnchair 2,I know it is available on the playstore and it is very popular, however if you have downloaded it from the Playstore then, you don't have all the latest features, I mean the last time the beta version was updated on the Playstore was back in December of 2019. But, the truth is the developers are still updating it on apk.mirror and they are calling these versions Pre-alpha apk.

Obviously, you may experience a few bugs if you use the Pre-alpha version but if you do want to encounter a huge flaw then, you can just revert back to the previous version. Anyways, let's talk about he difference between the beta version and Pre-alpha version. Besides, the fact the Pre-alpha has a ton more under the hood changes and fixes it also has preview pages in the settings for when you tap on the icon grid or you're trying to change the number of icons allowed on the  doc. It makes really easy to change the icon layout in the home screen within the desktop menu it also shows you how your icons on the desktop will look, so if you want to modify the text size, icon size, color, etc those changes can be seen live immediately within this page.

Unfortunately, the Pre-alpha has removed the app action preferences in the app drawer but there are few extra feature flags in the Pre-alpha version in the developer options of the app settings and finally if you are rooted running Android 10 and would like to use quick switch to enable the recent page with the addition of the doc, then you will need to install the Lawnchair 2 Pre-alpha version, since the one from play store doesn't support quick switch.
